This year, Liangcheng, Taobao's largest supplier of carton boxes for Jiangsu Province and Shanghai dispatched over 50,000 carton boxes daily for use in packaging items sold on the website. On November 11, the total transactions on Taobao.com and Tmall.com reached RMB 5.2 billion (USD 820 million) in value, a record for China’s biggest e-commerce platforms.The growing popularity of e-commerce has seen a proliferation of small and medium online sellers all over China. In tandem with this growth has been an increase in demand for packaging, like carton boxes, in which to store and dispatch goods to customers.
